Juventus will face Barcelona, and Real will play Bayern Munich in what seems to be a clash of titans already in the quarterfinals of this year's Champions League edition.
Leicester will try to continue their fairytale but they will have a hard task against Atletico Madrid.
Borrusia Dortmund and Monaco are going to have a spectacular and open clash, with no doubt, a lot of goals.
Champions League draw gave us four fantastic games. At this stage, there are no easy opponents, but we can say that we have two games that could be considered as derbies.
The propositions in this draw were a bit different than usual because at this stage draw is open and clubs from the same countries can compete against each other. We had three Spanish clubs, two German and one English, French and Italian.
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich already played 22 times in official games, and that is the most in European competitions by any two teams. The German team has a better record and they have 11 wins while Real has 9 of them. Zinedine Zidane will lead Real against the man to whom he was assistant in 2014 when Carlo Ancelotti was the manager of Los Culos. That year they won the Champions League together and now they will be opponents already in the quarterfinals. The first game will be played in Munich.
Juventus and Barcelona had fewer meetings in the past but you can't say that their games will be less intense and important. Last time they faced each other was in the Champions League finals back in 2015 when Barca defeated 3-1 the Italian champions. In 9 matches so far Italians are better as they have 4 victories comparing to 3 from Barca's side. On the other hand, the Spaniards have better goal-difference 11-12. Juve looks pretty strong this season, but Barcelona is unstoppable if MSN trio starts scoring. PSG knows that best.
The Cinderella story of Leicester continues, and if they want to extend it they will have to eliminate the Bad Guys of European football, Atletico Madrid which will be an extremely hard task to do. Two sides played 4 games in history, but the last was 20 years ago. Atletico has 3 wins, and the English Champions haven't put down one yet. They only managed to score 1 goal in four games, conceding 7. The big advantage will be the fact that the rematch will be played at their King Power stadium. They already eliminated one Spanish club in that situation, why not the other one.
Finally, we come to the match between Borussia Dortmund and Monaco. These two teams never played in European competitions, and now they will battle for the semi-finals of Champions League. This game will probably be the most attractive considering style of play because both teams have an offensive approach when playing. Monaco is one of the best offenses in Europe, and on the other hand, we know that in the past several years Borussia is playing and with intentions to score as many goals as they can, no matter how much they concede. Borrusia will be the host in the first game.
First games will be played on April the 11th and the rematches seven days later.
